Launched in December 2018, A Very Black Christmas is a collection of holiday classics performed by Black artists as a way to celebrate the holiday season and educate listeners on African American contributions to music. The playlist features sixty songs that have historically been marketed and mistaken as being sung by white artists but were in fact performed by some of the most gifted African American entertainers of all-time, most of them women from Eartha Kitt, Darlene Love, Ella Fitzgerald and more.
